How to access the NDIS or find services

2nd Dec 16

1 July 2016 marked the commencement of the NDIS in the following ADHC districts: Central Coast, Northern Sydney, South Western Sydney, Northern Sydney, and the whole of Hunter New England and Nepean Blue Mountains. The locations included in these areas are listed in the NDIS 2016 Rollout document. If the child is under 7 years and lives within one of these districts then their family should contact one of the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Transition Providers that covers the Local Government Area that they live within, which is available on the NDIS ECEI webpage.

If the child is under 7 years and is living in one of the following ADHC districts: Illawarra Shoalhaven, Mid North Coast, Murrumbidgee, Northern NSW, South Eastern Sydney, Sydney, Western NSW and Far West then those areas will not transition to the NDIS until 1 July 2017. The locations included in these areas are listed in the NDIS 2017 Rollout document. To access an ECI service before this date, families should contact one of the ECI providers listed on the ECIA Early Childhood Intervention services webpage.

If the child is aged 7 years or older then their family needs to contact the Local Area Coordinator for their area. If they live in the following ADHC districts of Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern Sydney, Western Sydney and Southern NSW they should contact Uniting about access to the NDIS. If they live in the following ADHC districts of South Western Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter New England they should contact the ST Vincent De Paul Society.
