Early Childhood Educator

EarlyEd is a family-centred early childhood intervention service. We require an experienced early childhood educator to join our team.

A 2 day per week maternity leave position is available at our Rosehill centre, where you will be working as part of a team of teachers and therapists.

 Hawkesbury Early Childhood Intervention Service

CO-ORDINATOR

Applications are invited for the position of Co-ordinator for the above service. The position involves carrying out developmental screening of children - providing verbal and written reports to families and early childhood centre staff; providing advice and referral information to families; and co-ordinating the overall service. The service employs 4 other staff to assist in the implementation of individual programmes for the children and also runs a weekly Playgroup. The position is for 4 days per week and teaching staff are paid under the Preschool Teachers Award.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. early childhood education; special education; allied health.
  • Commitment to the inclusion of children with a disability and their families in mainstream services.
  • Financial management and budgeting skills
  • Competent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience working with young children with a disability and their families

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is the nation’s largest not-for-profit autism-specific service provider. Aspect is seeking new team members for its new Autism Advisor Programme. The Autism Advisor Programme is funded by the Department of Family, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) as part of the Australian Government’s Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) package to increase access to early intervention services for children aged 0 - 6 years.

 Autism Advisors

  • Two positions, one with a CALD focus

  • Suit Community Development, Social Work/ Psychology/ Behavioural/ Health/ Social Science or related disciplines

To provide information and support to families and carers of children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) aged 0 - 6 years. The role requires: exceptional interpersonal, organisational, communication and networking skills, the ability to have empathy with families affected by an ASD, experience with autism and a high level of computer literacy.

CALD

The Autism Advisor (CALD) will fulfil the role of Autism Advisor but with a ‘culturally and linguistically diverse’ (CALD) focus. This CALD focussed position will involve providing information and support to families and carers from CALD backgrounds and also build parent networks and service partnerships through collaboration with CALD communities.
