ACT Inclusion Symposium

          Lunch will be available for participants from approximately 12:30 pm

Cost: Free   *You will need to register to attend as seats are limited*
                    If you have already registered prior to 8 February 2018, there is no need to register again.

 

Please note the Symposium is a separate event that follows on from the ECIA Best Practice Roundtable, which is being held at the same venue.


 

At the ACT Inclusion Symposium we will explore the opportunities and challenges in realising inclusion, look at inclusion principles and best practice in Early Childhood Intervention supported by case studies on applying these principles in mainstream settings.

 

This is a special event focusing on Inclusion of Children with disability and delay age 0-6 in mainstream and community services in the ACT. The following speakers have confirmed attendance: 

  • Education, Health, Child Protection and Child & Family Services representatives from ACT Government
  • The National Disability Insurance Agency
  • Community services.  

This free event is open to early childhood intervention practitioners, early childhood educators and childcare workers, health and allied health practitioners and people working in community services with children aged 0-6 in the ACT.

 

A final agenda for the Symposium is to be circulated by 13 February 2018.

 

The program for the afternoon is designed to be interactive and structured around a series of panels on:

  • Early Childhood Education 
  • Health Services 
  • Family Support and Child Protection 
  • Early Childhood Intervention Services

Each panel will consider issues such as:

  • referral pathways
  • initiatives that foster inclusion of children with developmental delay and disability
  • opportunities and challenges to realising inclusion
  • cross-sector collaborative practices.
