Locum Speech Pathologist

Cooma, NSW

We are seeking a locum Speech Pathologist to cover maternity leave from June to December 2018, with the possibility of extending the role into 2019.

Monaro Early Intervention Service (MEIS) is a well-established early intervention and therapy service in Cooma NSW, now operating as an NDIS Registered Provider, supporting children across the Snowy Monaro region.

The position will involve:

  • Working collaboratively as the sole Speech Pathologist in a small multidisciplinary team
  • Working with children with a range of disabilities, developmental delays and learning difficulties and their families
  • Providing therapy and supports in natural environments such as home, educational and community settings

The skills and experience we are seeking are:

  • Qualification in Speech Pathologist as recognised by Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in speech therapy, especially working with children and families
  • Demonstrated experience using family centred practices and delivering therapy in natural environments
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment, including strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in the disability sector, including an understanding of the NDIS
  • Good understanding of and demonstrated skills with computer applications including Microsoft Office and electronic client management systems
  • Current driver’s licence, Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check
